Practicing Ayurveda and Integrative Nutrition
in Northampton, MA and the Pioneer Valley.
Welcome
Being healthy means more than just deciding to eat "good food" and avoid "bad food". It involves understanding why we make the choices we do, and educating ourselves to choose foods that are best for us. Any food can be good or bad for us depending on how we use it.
Integrative nutrition looks at different aspects of your life- career, relationships, physical activity, and feeling of connection- to create a more harmonious and balanced lifestyle. When we are feeling good about all the components in our lives, healthy nutrition falls into place.
Ayurvedic Medicine is an ancient healing science that comes from India. Looking at your body type, personality, and medical history, we can determine your constitution, or "dosha". I also use pulse and tongue diagnosis to get a deeper read on your physical issues. We then know what you look like when perfectly balanced and where you may have gone out of balance. Each person is a unique dosha, so each treatment is highly individualized.
Through the lens of Ayurveda my clients learn about who they are, and how they can gently introduce foods and practices that will serve them through their lifetime. My intention with every person is to encourage them to learn their own patterns so they can maintain a balance of health and energy. Most importantly, by knowing yourself, you can really learn to love yourself! Ayur means life and Veda means knowledge. So the practice of Ayurveda becomes the knowledge of life that can lead one to vibrancy and longevity. If you or anyone you know is tired of going from doctor to doctor or diet to diet, tell them to come to see me and take control of their health, once and for all!
